Shoigu affirms new level of Russia-China relations

MOSCOW. Aug 15 (Interfax) - Russia and China are developing their relations in the face of U.S. attempts to secure its military advantage, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"The experience of Russian-U.S. interaction shows that military contacts make practical sense only when there is a political will for cooperation. Today, Moscow and Beijing have been declared strategic adversaries of the United States, and Pentagon's practical actions indicate the aspiration for securing its advantage in military confrontation," Shoigu said at the Moscow Conference on International Security.

"Under these circumstances, the bilateral relations between Russia and China have surpassed the strategic level by every parameter and have become more than allied," Shoigu said.
