Russia to develop military cooperation with Africa - Shoigu

KUBINKA, Moscow region. Aug 15 (Interfax) - Russia is set to develop military and military-technical cooperation with African states, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"The Russian Defense Ministry will continue to broaden relations with African states in the field of military and military-technical cooperation," Shoigu said at the Moscow Conference on International Security.

"We have no doubt that African states should have modern armed forces, which should be well trained and equipped and capable of responding independently to challenges and threats to national security," Shoigu said.
