MINSK. Aug 15 (Interfax) - Mechanized brigades of the Belarusian Armed Forces are conducting a command post exercise to practice commanding a military unit during a defensive operation, the Belarusian Defense Ministry's press service said on Tuesday.
"A joint command post exercise led by Commander of the Northwestern Operational Command Maj. Gen. Alexander Naumenko and involving the 19th and 120th Separate Guards Mechanized Brigades is taking place at the 227th Borisovsky all-arms training ground on August 14-17, 2023," it said.
The exercise is part of the command's training plan for the 2022/2023 training season.
"The exercise's subject is commanding a military unit during a defensive operation. The objective of the exercise is to improve officers' skills in commanding brigades and military units and sub-units' subordinate staffs for carrying out timely and precise decision-making in a changing environment," it said.
