Rosoboronexport has no need to import ammo - company head

KUBINKA, Moscow region. Aug 16 (Interfax) - Rosoboronexport is not working on ammo imports into Russia, as there is no such need, company head Alexander Mikheyev said in a statement.

"There has been no need for imports of such products by Rosoboronexport," Mikheyev told Interfax at the Army 2023 forum.

"Rostec state corporation head Sergei Chemezov has reported a manifold increase in the production of ammunition by Russian defense plants and said that the output of certain products had grown by several orders of magnitude," Mikheyev said in comment on Western media reports alleging a shortage of ammunition in Russia.

Mikheyev confirmed that Rosoboronexport both exports and imports military, dual-use and civilian products.
