Rostec presents new systems protecting military hardware from precision-guided weapons at Army 2023 forum

MOSCOW. Aug 16 (Interfax) - Rostec has presented systems for protecting personnel, hardware and buildings at the Army 2023 forum, the corporation's press service said in a statement.

"For the first time, Rostec is presenting next-generation smoke grenades for covering troop deployments on open terrain, smoke charges to camouflage large ground sites, and jamming and counter-radar rounds for aircraft. These systems protect against strikes by precision-guided weapons using various types of guidance," the statement said.

Next-generation smoke charges are designed to create broad aerosol screens and camouflage objects in visible, infrared and radar ranges, it said.

"A specific feature of these products is their remote activation via encrypted radio channels. Several dozen rounds can be used at a time to quickly camouflage large objects," the statement said.

"Combat experience shows that a regular smoke screen is not enough, as it does not protect against weapons with thermal sights. We took a comprehensive approach to this task, and created a family of smoke rounds for camouflaging large ground sites and grenades to cover small infantry units," the statement said.

"For instance, they protect against strikes by precision-guided weapons using radar and heat guidance," the statement quoted Bekkhan Ozdoyev, industrial director of the Rostec unit for conventional weapons, ammunition and special chemicals, as saying.
