Resident of Zaporozhye region village killed in Ukrainian strike

ROSTOV-ON-DON. Aug 16 (Interfax) - The Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled the village of Verbovoye in the northern Zaporozhye region on Wednesday, killing one civilian, a spokesperson for the region's emergency services told reporters.

"The Ukrainian Armed Forces opened fire on Verbovoye in the Pologi district. A missile fell on the yard of a private house. One civilian was killed. No damage was caused," the spokesperson said.

The Pologi district is located close to the frontline.
