U.S. imposes sanctions on Russian, Kazakh companies for ties with N. Korea

WASHINGTON. Aug 16 (Interfax) - The United States has imposed sanctions on three companies, including those from Russia and Kazakhstan, for ties with North Korea, a statement on the U.S. Treasury Department's website published on Wednesday said.

The two companies, Kazakhstan's Defense Engineering and Russia's Verus, were sanctioned. Versor s.r.o., a company from Slovakia, was also hit by the sanctions.

The Treasury Department also added Lebanon-based Green Without Borders and its leader Zuhair Subhi Nahla, which, according to the U.S. side, are providing support to the Hezbollah group, to the sanctions lists.
