Belarus-China military cooperation not directed against third countries - Lukashenko (Part 2)

MINSK. Aug 17 (Interfax) - Military cooperation between Belarus and China is not directed against third countries, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said at a meeting with Chinese Defense Minister Li Shangfu.

"Our entire cooperation, which is of great relevance, will by no means be directed against third countries. We do not need that. What we need is to ensure the security of our states and our peoples," the BelTA state-run news agency quoted Lukashenko as saying at the meeting.

Lukashenko also expressed confidence that the core approaches of China and Belarus to the present-day and future world order coincide.

"We are absolute supporters of the multipolar world. We are absolute supporters of territorial integrity and unity, of the borders and territories that were formed after World War II. We stand for non-interference in states' internal affairs," Lukashenko said.
