Moscow justice of peace fines Google 3 mln rubles for not deleting fake info on special military operation

MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - A Moscow justice of the peace has imposed a 3-million-ruble administrative fine on Google for not deleting false information about the special military operation and other restricted content, an Interfax correspondent said.

"To penalize Google LLC with an administrative fine of 3 million rubles," Justice of Peace of Judiciary District No. 422 in Moscow's Tagansky District Timur Vakhrameyev said in his ruling.

The company was found guilty of not deleting prohibited content.

According to materials in the proceeding, Google was charged with not deleting YouTube videos suggesting methods of infiltration of facilities restricted for minors and incorrect information about progress of the Russian special military operation in the Ukrainian territory at the demand of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs and the Russian Prosecutor General's Office.

The Google lawyer raised objections to the motion, pointed to procedural violations and asked to drop the case.
