MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - Russia is not selling its Forpost drones to foreign countries, Rosoboronexport head Alexander Mikheyev said.
"Rosoboronexport is currently not promoting this product on foreign markets due to the absence of an export permit, and receiving it is among the responsibilities of the producer enterprise," Mikheyev told Interfax on the sidelines of the Army 2023 forum.
It was reported in August 2021 that the Forpost-R unmanned aerial vehicle, which was earlier produced in Russia under an Israeli license, was provided with attack capabilities. Its version armed with two missiles was exhibited at the Army 2021 forum. The first contract on the delivery of Forpost attack drones was signed by the Russian Defense Ministry at the forum.
The Russian Defense Ministry published the first video in March 2022 that showed a Forpost drone destroying Ukrainian army targets.
Forpost tactical drones, a licensed copy of Israel's Searcher MkII, which have been delivered to the Russian Armed Forces in large numbers, had previously been intended solely for reconnaissance missions.
