MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - A group of missile ships has practiced a combined strike on a mock enemy ship in the Sea of Okhotsk, the Russian Pacific Fleet said on Thursday.
"The exercise took place off the Island of Sakhalin," the fleet said.
According to the exercise scenario, a mock enemy's ship preparing to land an assault group on the island was detected in the Sea of Okhotsk, it said.
The group comprising R-298 and R-261 ships "tracked down the mock enemy's ship, engaged, and simulated a strike with Moskit missiles," the fleet said.
