KUBINKA, Moscow region. Aug 17 (Interfax) - Members of the scientific company at the Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops' Military Academy have developed a three-layer material that can be used to make cloaks which fully hide servicemen from thermal imagers, according to materials presented as part of the scientific and business program for the Army 2023 international military-technical forum.
"A cloak for servicemen that can completely hide them from thermal imagers or drones with thermal imaging cameras has been developed and assessed on an experimental basis," the materials said.
The material has three layers, including an internal one, which reflects infrared radiation from the user's body; a middle layer which absorbs infrared radiation, and an external one that reflects infrared radiation from the external environment.
The material was also used to make a hood with special glasses that are protected against thermal imaging reconnaissance systems. Using it will help servicemen conduct surveillance while remaining undetected.
