Baltic Fleet ships fire artillery at mock enemy drones

MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - The Baltic Fleet has conducted training in air defense and firing artillery at mock enemy naval drones and ships, the Fleet's press service said on Thursday.

"Naval artillery troops practiced jointly repelling attacks by small targets imitating naval drones, and launched an artillery strike at surface targets representing mock enemy ships," it said.

The training was carried out by a strike group consisting of the Alexin and Kabardino-Balkaria small landing ships, the service said.

They conducted maritime exercises "in detecting and destroying mock enemy air assault equipment involving practice shooting at airborne targets," the statement said.

The exercise was carried out with 76.2mm and 30mm artillery weapons.
