MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry has said it has held a conference to discuss so-called psychological security as part of the Army 2023 military-technical forum.
"On the margins of the conference this year, participants discussed subjects concerning the historical and ideological, geopolitical, and informational and psychological aspects of the special military operation," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.
The experts analyzed "informational and ideological concepts for counteracting the destructive information policy of unfriendly countries," it said.
The scientific and practical conference "The Army and Society. The Mental Security Strategy" was held under the direction of First Deputy Defense Minister Ruslan Tsalikov, it said.
"What we will be talking about here will, to a certain degree, naturally reach society [and] people who are watching with interest what is going on here today. And we hope that as a result, there will be a deeper and more accurate understanding of what is happening. We will take another step to help our society become stronger," he said in his opening remarks.
Public officials as well as other public figures, political scientists, journalists, cultural representatives, and clergy were among speakers at the conference, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
