BRUSSELS. Aug 17 (Interfax) - The European Union still adheres to its calls for Azerbaijan and Armenia to continue searching for a solution that will lead to a peaceful settlement between the two countries, Peter Stano, spokesman for EU High Commissioner for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell, said in a statement.
"We are calling on Azerbaijan and Armenia to continue honoring obligations in terms of seeking a solution to all the aspects of the agenda being discussed by the two countries," Stano said at a press briefing in Brussels on Thursday.
"Be it the issue of the Lachin Corridor or the normalization of relations, we are ready to assist," Stano said. "President of the European Council Mr. [Charles] Michel is making mediation efforts. Such efforts are ongoing. Our special envoy for the region [European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar] is currently in the region, and will continue the European Union's efforts."
The EU is offering its Azerbaijani and Armenian partners assistance in searching for such a solution, and making progress in normalization, Stano said.
