MOSCOW. Aug 17 (Interfax) - Moscow's Lefortovsky district court has ordered the arrest of U.S.-Russian citizen Eugene Spector in an espionage case.
"The court granted an investigator's petition for the remand of Spector, suspected of espionage, in custody," the court's spokesperson told Interfax on Thursday
The case of Spector, who pled guilty and agreed to cooperate with the inquiry, was heard twice. Last September Moscow's Ostankinsky district court sentenced him to three and a half years of imprisonment for acting as a middleman in bribe-giving in a case of Anastasia Alexeyeva, a former aide to former Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich. Alexeyeva was convicted of corruption too.
