Russian Defense Ministry reports downing Ukrainian drone in Moscow region

MOSCOW. Aug 21 (Interfax) - A Ukrainian drone has crashed in the Ruza district of the Moscow region, having beeen detected and jammed by electronic countermeasure systems, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.

"The drone lost control and crashed near Pokrovskoye in the Ruza district. There are no casualties," the ministry said.

The incident happened at around 6:50 a.m. on Monday, it said.

"An attempt by the Kiev regime to commit a terror attack by a fixed-wing drone has been prevented," the ministry said.
