Airstrikes delivered on Ukrainian bases, ammo depots in DPR - Russian military

MOSCOW. Aug 22 (Interfax) - Russian Sukhoi Su-34 bomber aircraft carried out airstrikes on temporary bases and weapon depots of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Soledar-Artyomovsk and Aleksandro-Kalinovka sectors in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), spokesman for Russia's southern group of forces Vadim Astafyev said.

"Su-34 fighter bombers delivered strikes on two temporary bases and depots storing ammunition and missile and artillery weapons of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Soledar-Artyomovsk sector and on an ammunition depot of the enemy's 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade in the Aleksandro-Kalinovka sector," Astafyev said.

Attack and army aircraft of the southern group of forces delivered strikes on concentrations of troops and military hardware of the Ukrainian army in the Lisichansk, Soledar-Artyomovsk, Aleksandro-Kalinovka, Avdeyevka and Maryinka sectors, he said.

"Artillery forces struck a field ammunition depot of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Belogorovka, a temporary base of the 105th Rifle Battalion of the 109th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Krasnogorovka, a Hummer armored vehicle, an armored personnel carrier and four pickup trucks carrying enemy infantry troops near Grigorovka, Andreyevka, Stupochki and Lastochkino," the officer said.

Russian long-range rocket artillery weapons struck a materiel supply center of the Ukrainian army's 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade, Astafyev said.

"Tornado-S multiple launch rocket systems of the southern group of forces' artillery formation delivered a strike on a staging area of the 3rd Battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' 92nd Separate Mechanized Brigade near Molochar, hitting a concentration of enemy weapons, hardware and troops, including seven tanks, six infantry fighting vehicles, three Akatsiya self-propelled artillery systems and up to ten trucks," he said.
