MAGADAN. Aug 22 (Interfax) - Japan's participation in the United States' plans to deploy medium-range and shorter-range missiles in Asia poses an extra threat to the security of Russia's Far East, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said.
"The Pentagon assigns an important role to Japan in its plans to deploy medium-range and shorter-range missiles in Asia, which poses additional threats to the security of our Far Eastern territories," Patrushev said at a conference on security of Russia's Far Eastern Federal District in Magadan.
