BAKU/YEREVAN. Aug 22 (Interfax) - An Azerbaijani soldier has been wounded in an Armenian attack, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in a statement.
"Ismet Nazarov, a serviceman of the Azerbaijani army, has been injured in an Armenian provocation. The serviceman sustained a light injury from a bullet ricochet. He was given first aid and taken to a hospital. His condition is not life-threatening," the ministry said.
Azerbaijani forces gave a resolute response, it said.
The ministry did not say where the attack happened.
"The military and political leaders of Armenia bear full responsibility for the consequences of the provocation," the ministry said.
Yerevan denied Armenian troops' involvement in the Azerbaijani soldier's injury.
"The statement by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, alleging that the Armenian Armed Forces fired upon Azerbaijani positions, injuring a serviceman of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, is untrue," the Armenian Defense Ministry said.
