ROSTOV-ON-DON. Aug 22 (Interfax) - Casualties in the Ukrainian Armed Forces have grown 30% in the Zaporozhye region over the past ten days, acting Zaporozhye governor Yevgeny Balitsky said.
"Over the past ten days alone, the enemy lost 1,500 troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, not to mention countless hardware. The enemy's casualties have grown 30%," Balitsky said on Telegram on Tuesday.
Tensions persisted in the Zaporozhye sector in the past 24 hours, he said.
"Following artillery shelling and assault operations our units have taken rather advantageous defense lines near Rabotino. The enemy's attack group was fully destroyed in the Rabotino area. A new group was deployed in the same area but suffered casualties and retreated northward," Balitsky said.
