Kyrgyz, Kazakh defense ministers discuss military, military-technical cooperation

BISHKEK. Aug 22 (Interfax) - A Kazakh military delegation led by Defense Minister Ruslan Zhaksylykov arrived in Kyrgyzstan on Tuesday for a working visit, the press service for the Kyrgyz Defense Ministry said.

"A meeting between Zhaksylykov and Kyrgyz Defense Minister Baktybek Bekbolotov addressed the strengthening and development of bilateral military and military-technical cooperation and further joint work of the two countries," the press service said.

"Military cooperation is an important area of interaction," the press service quoted Bekbolotov as saying. "Fraternal Kazakhstan is a reliable and loyal partner," he said.

The Kazakh military delegation will take part in the active stage of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh special tactical exercise Erdik (Courage) involving special ops units of the Kyrgyz and Kazakh armed forces.
