Lukashenko invites Polish observers to CSTO exercise

MINSK. Aug 31 (Interfax) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has announced that Polish observers have been invited to the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO)'s Combat Brotherhood 2023 exercise, which Belarus will host in early September.

"We are ready to restore amicable relations with our neighbors. [...] Seeking to prove this and to rule out any speculation on the matter, we have invited Polish representatives as observers to the CSTO Combat Brotherhood 2023 exercise, which will begin in the Brest region tomorrow," the Belarusian state-run news agency BelTA quoted Lukashenko as saying at a meeting of the Belarusian Security Council on Thursday.

The CSTO Combat Brotherhood 2023 strategic exercise involving 2,500 troops and more than 500 pieces of hardware will take place in Belarus on September 1-6.
