Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry hopes for Pashinyan's constructive stance on peace agreement, reintegration of Karabakh Armenians

BAKU. Aug 31 (Interfax) - The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has urged Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to take a more constructive stance at negotiations on a peace agreement.

"Hopefully, the Armenian side will make a correct assessment of the reality which has taken shape in the region in the post-conflict period, and will take a constructive stance at peace negotiations with Azerbaijan," the ministry said.

It also urged the Armenian prime minister to support the policy of reintegrating Karabakh Armenians.

Earlier on Thursday, Pashinyan said 33 trucks with humanitarian aid were stranded in Armenian territory at the entrance to the Lachin corridor, unable to bring supplies to Nagorno-Karabakh. "Azerbaijan plans to unilaterally open the Lachin corridor at the most acute stage of the humanitarian crisis, that is, to allow people to leave and to not allow them to return," he said at an Armenian government meeting.

According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, "every condition for two-way transit of the Armenian population via the Lachin checkpoint has been established."
