U.S. adds Russian individual, company to N. Korea sanctions list

WASHINGTON. Sept 1 (Interfax) - The U.S. Department of the Treasury has added the Intellekt company and a Russian citizen associated with it, as well as a citizen of North Korea to the North Korea sanctions list, the department said in a statement.

Intellekt LLC is a company registered in Moscow.

"Today's action [...] targets the facilitation networks that enable the DPRK's ballistic missile and WMD programs," the statement quoted Under Secretary of the Treasury Brian Nelson as saying.

The sanctions "target two individuals who have directly supported or helped generate revenue for DPRK organizations that are linked to the development of WMD, and identifies a company owned by one of the individuals," the statement said.
