Putin, Erdogan to hold talks in Sochi on Sept 4 - Peskov (Part 2)

MOSCOW. Sept 1 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan will hold negotiations in Sochi on September 4, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

"The negotiations will be held on Monday. They will be held in Sochi," Peskov said in response to a related question.

"It will take place in the afternoon," he said.

Putin and Erdogan previously met in Astana on October 13, 2022, on the sidelines of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.

Preparations for the upcoming meeting began in spring. A visit by the Russian president to Turkey was initially considered, but the plans changed in August. Turkey said prospects for extending the Black Sea Grain Initiative or searching for alternatives will be high on meeting's agenda.
