Russia to start sending free grain to Africa's poorest countries within next 2-3 weeks - Putin

SOCHI. Sept 4 (Interfax) - Russia will be ready to ship grain free of charge to the world's six poorest countries within the next two-three weeks.

"We are close to finalizing agreements with six African states to which we intend to send grain free of charge and to provide free logistics - that is, to deliver this cargo," Russian President Vladimir Putin said after talks with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"The talks are nearing their conclusion. The shipments will start within the next two-three weeks," Putin said.
