Russia discussing possible joint exercise with N. Korea - Shoigu

SOCHI. Sept 4 (Interfax) - Russia is discussing the possibility of holding a joint exercise with North Korea, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.

"We are discussing this with everyone, including with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Why not, they are our neighbors. An old Russian truth says that neighbors are not chosen and it is better to live in peace and harmony with neighbors, [...] why not, of course, it is being discussed," Shoigu said when asked by Interfax whether there is a possibility of a joint exercise between Russia and North Korea, as the media reported following the Russian defense minister's visit to Pyongyang.

"We are conducting [exercises] with our Chinese colleagues, moreover, we are carrying out joint patrols of strategic bombers of naval units," Shoigu added.
