MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - The Russian Defense Ministry signed contracts totaling more than 400 billion rubles at the Army 2023 forum in August 2023, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"Twenty government contracts totaling over 400 billion rubles were signed," Shoigu said at a teleconference with ministry heads on Tuesday.
The forum was attended by military delegations from 83 countries, including 41 high-ranking delegations, in addition to representatives of six international organizations, and Belarus, Vietnam, India, Iran, China and Pakistan presented national expositions.
More than one million people visited the forum's exhibition grounds within a week, he said.
"The forum showed yet again that it remains a relevant platform for countries that are ready to establish equal partnerships in military-technical cooperation, even under sanctions," Shoigu said.
He also noted the 11th Moscow Conference on International Security held in August.
The conference brought together 800 delegates from 76 countries and six international organizations, including 26 defense ministers, 16 deputy defense ministers and general staff chiefs, he said.
"The foreign defense ministers voiced support for Russia's foreign policy aimed at bolstering multipolarity and expressed their readiness to further develop constructive cooperation with our country in defense," Shoigu said.
"The conference demonstrated Russia's high standing on the global stage and the failure of efforts taken by the collective West to isolate it," he said.
