Ukrainian HIMARS missiles intercepted, 33 drones destroyed over past 24 hours - Russian Defense Ministry

MOSCOW. Sept 5 (Interfax) - Russian forces intercepted 21 missiles fired by HIMARS and Uragan multiple rocket launchers and shot down 33 Ukrainian drones over the past 24 hours, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.

"Air defenses intercepted 21 missiles [fired by] HIMARS and Uragan multiple rocket launchers," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Tuesday.

Russian electronic warfare equipment destroyed and jammed 33 Ukrainian drones in the Lugansk People's Republic, the Donetsk People's Republic, the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, he also said.

"Tactical and army aircraft, missile forces and artillery of the Russian Armed Forces' groups of troops hit the enemy's troops and military hardware in 132 areas," Konashenkov said.

"In total, 467 planes, 248 helicopters, 6,409 unmanned aerial vehicles, 435 air defense missile systems, 11,653 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,148 multiple rocket launchers, 6,230 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 12,715 special military vehicles have been destroyed since the beginning of the special military operation," he said.
