NATO reps monitoring final stage of CSTO exercise in Belarus

MINSK. Sept 6 (Interfax) - Diplomatic representatives of 18 countries, including three NATO member states, are monitoring the Combat Brotherhood 2023 exercise of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), the Belarusian Defense Ministry's press service said.

"The final stage of the Combat Brotherhood 2023 joint strategic exercise is taking place at the Brestsky range today," the ministry said.

"Belarusian General Staff Chief, First Deputy Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Viktor Gulevich, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Col. Gen. Anatoly Sidorov, Kyrgyz General Staff Chief, First Deputy Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Erlis Terdikbayev, parliamentarians from CSTO member states at the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly Council, and observers, military attaches and representatives of embassies of 19 countries, including three NATO member states, are watching the final stage," the ministry said.

The active stage of the Combat Brotherhood 2023 strategic exercise is taking place in Belarus on September 1-6. The exercise involving 2,500 servicemen and over 500 pieces of weapons and military and special hardware has been held at ranges and areas of the Brest, Grodno and Minsk regions.
