Blinken may announce another $1-bln assistance package for Ukraine in Kiev - media (Part 2)

WASHINGTON. Sept 6 (Interfax) - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in Kiev on Wednesday for talks with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, CNN said with reference to a representative of the U.S. Department of State.

According to him, Blinken is expected to announce a new assistance package for Ukraine in the amount of $1 billion. He did not say what exactly the new U.S. package would fund.

Blinken said on the X social network, formerly known as Twitter, that he had come to Kiev to discuss Ukrainian military operations and assistance to Ukraine.

"Returned to Kiev today to meet with our Ukrainian partners to discuss their ongoing counteroffensive, future assistance and reconstruction efforts, and above all, to reinforce the unwavering U.S. commitment to Ukraine," Blinken said.
