MOSCOW. Sept 8 (Interfax) - Iskander short-range ballistic missile systems have trained solo and massive strikes in the Kaliningrad region, the Russian Baltic Fleet's press service said on Friday.
"During a scheduled exercise, missile units stealthily deployed to the designated area, prepared firing positions and performed electronic solo and massive launches on targets simulating missile system launchers, airfields, protected sites and command posts of the mock enemy," the press service said.
The units operated in simulated conditions of radioactive and chemical contamination and practiced repelling attacks by reconnaissance and sabotage groups, it said.
"A drone was used to reconnoiter the area before redeployment and to spot hidden sabotage groups of the mock enemy," the press service said.
The exercise involved about 50 troops and up to ten pieces of military and special hardware, it said.
