VILNIUS. Sept 8 (Interfax/BNS) - Lithuania transferred more than 1.5 million rounds of ammunition to Ukraine on Friday, the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said.
The overall amount of military support that Lithuania has provided to Ukraine up to now includes Mi-8 helicopters, L-70 anti-aircraft systems with ammunition, M113 armored personnel carriers, millions of rounds, and grenade launcher ammunition, it said.
Lithuania also plans to send Ukraine NASAMS missile launchers, anti-drone systems, logistical equipment, and other auxiliary items in the near future, it said.
Apart from sending military hardware to Ukraine, Lithuania is actively training Ukrainian soldiers, providing medical and rehabilitation aid, and organizing expert consultations, it said.
Since late February 2022, Lithuania's support to Ukraine has reached 0.5 billion euros and will continue to be provided. A 200-million-euro military aid package for Ukraine is earmarked for 2024-2026. The total value of Lithuania's support to Ukraine exceeds 1 billion euros, or over 1.2% of GDP, half of it being military support, the ministry said.
