VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 11 (Interfax) - Experts, including at the Defense Ministry, have found a higher conscription age expedient in view of the demographic situation in Russia and the needs of military development, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"Naturally, the expediency of the conscription age range is determined by specialists. First and foremost, by the Defense Ministry. Experts analyze the situation. This is related to the demographic situation and the needs of military development. They voice their opinions and give recommendations that are either taken into account by lawmakers, or not," Peskov said on RBC-TV.
"In this case, they were found to be valid, so laws were adopted in the form that we have now," he said.
