Voter turnout in recent elections reaches 43.5% - CEC head

MOSCOW. Sept 11 (Interfax) - The average voter turnout in the regional elections in Russia reached 43.5 percent, which is the highest voter turnout since 2017, Russian Central Elections Commission (CEC) head Ella Pamfilova said.

"A total of 4,200 election campaigns were held on Unified Voting Day, which more than 45 million [voters] out of a potential 67 million took part in as of 9:00 a.m. today. The average voter turnout reached 43.5 percent," Pamfilova said at the CEC information center on Monday.

It is the highest voter turnout in regional elections since 2017, she said.
