Putin has no need now to meet with G20 Western leaders - Peskov

VLADIVOSTOK. Sept 12 (Interfax) - Russian President Vladimir Putin currently has no need to meet with the leaders of the G20 Western member countries because such meetings cannot add anything constructive to the agenda, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said.

"Putin has no need at the moment to meet with these people, as this meeting cannot add anything constructive to our agenda. We are guided, first and foremost, by the opinions of these representatives of the collective West's states, we are guided by their statements," Peskov told reporters when commenting on the UK prime minister's remarks that the Russian president "lacks the courage" to face other G20 leaders.

At the same time, Putin's international schedule is quite intense "in areas that are constructive and where we have our interests," Peskov said.

"When the time comes to meet with the aforementioned gentlemen, it will definitely be done," he said.
