MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - Russian forces have repelled five Ukrainian attacks in the Donetsk sector, three in the Zaporozhye sector, and one in the Krasny Liman sector, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"In the Donetsk sector, units from the southern group of forces supported by aircraft and artillery repelled five attacks by assault units of the 110th Mechanized Brigade and the 101st Guard Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces General Staff in the vicinity of Andreyevka and Mayorsk and west of Andreyevka in the Donetsk People's Republic," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Tuesday.
In that area, Ukrainian forces lost over 255 troops, two infantry vehicles, six trucks, and a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, he said.
"In the Zaporozhye sector, Russian detachments, aircraft, artillery and heavy flamethrowers repelled three attacks by the 47th Mechanized Brigade and the 71st Jaeger Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Rabotino and Verbovoye in the Zaporozhye region," Konashenkov said.
In the Zaporozhye sector, Ukrainian forces lost up to 35 troops, a tank, six infantry vehicles, including three U.S.-made Bradleys, and three trucks, he said.
"In the Krasny Liman sector, active operations of units from the central group of forces, strikes by army aviation, and artillery fire repelled an attack by an assault group of the 12th Special Ops Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces south of Kuzmino in the Lugansk People's Republic," Konashenkov said.
"Up to 45 Ukrainian troops were killed, and two armored combat vehicles, three pickup trucks and a D-30 howitzer were destroyed," he said.
"In the southern Donetsk sector, units from the eastern group of forces struck positions of units of the 128th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Staromayorskoye and Urozhainoye in the Donetsk People's Republic," Konashenkov said.
Ukrainian forces lost up to 140 troops, three armored combat vehicles and two trucks, while aircraft destroyed an ammo depot of the 37th Marine Brigade in the DPR, he said.
As a result of counterbattery measures, U.S.-made M777 and M119 howitzers, two D-30 howitzers, a Msta-B howitzer and a Ukrainian-made Nota counter-drone station were hit in the Zaporozhye sector over the past day, Konashenkov said.
"In the Kupyansk sector, aircraft and artillery of the western group of forces hit troops and hardware of the 68th Jaeger Brigade and the 14th and 32nd Mechanized Brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Novoyegorovka, Sinkovka and Zagoruikovka in the Kharkov region," he said.
In that area, Ukrainian forces lost up to 25 troops, three trucks, two U.S.-made M777 artillery systems, French-made TRF1 and D-20 howitzers, a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system, and a Turkish-made T-122 Sakarya multiple rocket launcher, he said.
"In the Kherson sector, gunfire killed up to 80 Ukrainian troops and destroyed five trucks over the past day. Counterbattery measures resulted in the destruction of a U.S.-made M777 artillery system and Msta-B and D-30 howitzers," Konashenkov said.
