YEREVAN. Sept 12 (Interfax) - Azerbaijani forces have attacked Armenian positions in eastern Armenia, the Armenian Defense Ministry said.
"Units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces fired small arms at Armenian positions in the Verin Shorzha area (in the Gegharkunik region in eastern Armenia) at around 2:35 p.m. on September 12," the ministry's press service said.
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said earlier on Tuesday that Azerbaijani positions near Sadarak in the Sadarak region of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic repeatedly came under fire of small arms of various calibers between 9:45 a.m. and 10 a.m. on September 12.
The Armenian Defense Ministry refuted the Azerbaijani report.
