MOSCOW. Sept 12 (Interfax) - The Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsia) has approved changes made to the design of the TV7-117ST-01 engine and allowed the power unit to operate at altitudes of up to 7,600 meters, the press service for the United Engine Corporation (UEC) said in a statement.
"The approved changes are another stage of the plan to improve the characteristics not only of the TV7-117ST-01 [engine], which is intended for installation on the Ilyushin Il-114-300 aircraft, but also of the entire TV7-117 family, which currently includes the TV7-117V [engine] for the Mil Mi-38 helicopter and the TV7-117ST-02 [engine] for the Ladoga regional jet," UEC-Klimov general designer Vsevolod Yeliseyev was quoted as saying in the statement released on Tuesday.
Along with UEC-Klimov, the developers of the Il-114-300 airplane from the United Aircraft Corporation, as well as certain institutes within the industry such as the Baranov Central Institute of Aircraft Engineering and Design, are actively working on improving the performance characteristics of the TV7-117ST-01 engine, he said.
The Rosaviatsia certified the TV7-117ST-01 engine in December 2022. Flight tests are planned for this year, and in the future there will be a pre-production run of six new engines for three aircraft to support the Il-114-300 program, the statement said.
The TV7-117 is a family of engines for helicopters and regional jets. The power units are manufactured using state-of-the-art materials, alloys and coatings and incorporate all the latest achievements in global engine construction, such as the use of digital twin and additive technologies.
