HONG KONG. Sept 13 (Interfax) - North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has described his visit to Russia as a demonstration of strategic bilateral relations, the Yonhap news agency said with the reference to North Korean state-run media.
This visit "is clear evidence [...] of the strategic importance" of bilateral relations, the report quoted Kim as saying.
The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said, for its part, that Kim made the statement at the Khasan station in Russia's Primorye Territory where Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Alexander Kozlov, Primorye Governor Oleg Kozhemyako and other officials welcomed him as "the closest friend of the Russian people."
The visit aims to "develop relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK and the Russian Federation" at a new high level, the KCNA said.
Kim said he was glad to visit Russia again four years after the previous visit.
