Moscow to develop relations with Pyongyang despite any criticism, reservations - Peskov

MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Russia will develop its relations with North Korea despite any criticism or reservations, and so that these relations meet the interests of both states, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.

Journalist Pavel Zarubin asked Peskov whether Russia may lift sanctions on North Korea. "We are still a responsible member of the UN Security Council and we continue our work within the framework of this organization [the UN], as there are common processes. At the same time, North Korea is our close neighbor, and we will develop relations with our common neighbor despite any reservations and despite any criticism addressed towards us," Peskov said.

Their relations will develop to meet the interests of both countries in the best way possible, Peskov said. "No one should be concerned about this, as we cooperate for the sake of the prosperity of our two countries and the people in our countries, in particular, and are not targeting anyone," he said.
