MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - The Russian Armed Forces have delivered strikes against Ukrainian territorial defense units near Alexeyevsky Island in the Kherson region, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said.
"Strikes delivered using artillery and heavy flamethrower systems hit a concentration of troops of the 124th Territorial Defense Brigade near Alexeyevsky Island in the Kherson sector," Konashenkov said at a press briefing on Wednesday.
More than 80 Ukrainian troops were killed and two military vehicles and a U.S.-made M777 artillery system were destroyed as a result, he said.
