Pashinyan says guided by Putin's statements in context of Armenian-Russian relations

YEREVAN. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said he closely follows statements made by Russian President Vladimir Putin in the context of relations between the two countries.

"I am guided by statements made by my Russian counterpart [Russian President Vladimir Putin] in the context of relations between Armenia and Russia. I don't follow [statements made by others]. I closely follow statements made by the president of Russia who said that there are no problems in relations with Armenia and myself," Pashinyan said, responding to an opposition parliamentarian's request to comment on Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova's statement about Yerevan's unfriendly steps.

Pashinyan said he had "seven or eight telephone calls" with Putin since Azerbaijan blocked the Lachin corridor linking Armenia with Nagorno-Karabakh.

"The Russian president receives all necessary information from me, I also shared [it] in writing. Russia's peacekeeping contingent is deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh, Russia also receives information from it firsthand," Pashinyan said.
