MOSCOW. Sept 13 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has approved the list of diseases preventing an individual deemed partially fit for military service from being recruited into the Russian Armed Forces under a contract during mobilization, martial law and wartime.
The order was published on the official legal information website on Wednesday.
"I hereby order to approve the list of diseases in the presence of which a citizen or foreign citizen deemed partially fit for military service cannot be enlisted for military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation under contract during mobilization, under martial law and during wartime (an addendum to this order)," the order said.
The list of diseases, according to which an individual deemed partially fit cannot serve in the Armed Forces contractually, contains 26 items.
According to the list, such diseases include, in particular, HIV, hepatitis B and C, all forms of active tuberculosis, Type 1 diabetes, heart diseases, and mental illnesses.
