BAKU/YEREVAN. Sept 14 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan's positions on the border with Armenia have again been attacked by the latter's military, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in a statement on Thursday evening.
"On September 14, at 7:35 p.m., Armenian Armed Forces units, from their positions in the Chambarak region, fired small arms several times at Azerbaijani army positions situated in the area of Zamanli village, Gadabay region," the statement said.
The Azerbaijani army units retaliated, the ministry said.
In addition, between 7:05 p.m. and 7:25 p.m. Armenia's illegal armed formations in Azerbaijani territory [the Karabakh economic region], where Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, attempted to dig new trench routes in front of Azerbaijani army positions in the Aghdam region.
"As a result of swift measures undertaken by Azerbaijani army units, this work was stopped immediately," the statement said.
For its part, Armenia's Defense Ministry said that, "Azerbaijan's defense ministry continues to spread disinformation."
"The statement released by the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry alleging that Armenian military units opened fire in the direction of Azerbaijani positions on the eastern part of the border at 7:35 p.m. on September 14, is untrue," the ministry said.
This is Armenia's fourth dismissal of Baku's accusation on Thursday.
