ARSENYEV (Primorye Territory). Sept 15 (Interfax) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has inspected the fulfilment of the state defense order by the Progress plant, which makes Kamov Ka-52 helicopters, located in Arsenyev, Primorye Territory.

Shoigu visited the Zvezda plant in the Far East on Friday morning to inspect the implementation of the state defense order, after which he headed to the Progress plant. Upon arrival at the enterprise, the defense minister was shown the mechanical treatment, subassembly and final assembly processes in the plant's workshops.

"The upgraded Ka-52M helicopter has received new radar systems, a new sighting system and weapons with significantly enhanced properties. This work is conducted under a life cycle contract," the enterprise's director Sergei Shamshura told Shoigu.

Shoigu was also familiarized with a simulator complex that helps pilots master the nuances of helicopter operation and the use of radio-electronic equipment aboard Ka-52M helicopters.
