Soyuz MS-24 spaceship with Russian-U.S. crew lifts off from Baikonur

BAIKONUR. Sept 15 (Interfax) - A Soyuz-2.1a rocket carrying the Soyuz MS-24 manned transport spaceship launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on Friday, an Interfax correspondent reported.

The rocket lifted off at 6:44 p.m. Moscow time from the cosmodrome's Site No. 31. On board are Roscosmos cosmonauts Oleg Kononenko, Nikolai Chub and NASA astronaut Loral O'Hara.

The Soyuz is due to dock with the Rassvet small research module of the Russian segment of the International Space Station at 9:56 p.m. Moscow time.
