MOSCOW. Sept 19 (Interfax) - Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev, member of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee Politburo and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and Mongolian National Security Council Secretary Jadambyn Enkhbayar have held trilateral consultations on security in Moscow, the Russian Security Council said in a statement.
"The parties had a detailed exchange of opinions on regional security matters. They discussed the prospects for trilateral interaction on a broad range of issues of mutual interest, and considered subjects related to cooperation between Russia, Mongolia, and China in the international arena and in multilateral formats," it said.
In his introductory remarks, Patrushev invited his counterparts to attach special significance to "aspects of regional security, as well as promising areas of trilateral interaction."
"I'd like to point out that our countries are linked by bilateral relations of comprehensive strategic partnership. In the long run, it would be important to strive for the same level also in a trilateral format, which would require considerably more active interaction between us in the practical sphere and more advanced coordination in the international arena and in regional affairs," Patrushev said.
