Rosfinmonitoring adds Kolomoisky, Avakov to list of terrorists and extremists

MOSCOW. Oct 2 (Interfax) - Russia's Federal Financial Monitoring Service (Rosfinmonitoring) has put Ukrainian businessman Igor Kolomoisky and former Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov on the list of individuals and organizations known to be involved in extremist or terrorist activities.

The new entry was added to Rosfinmonitoring's list on Monday.

Other persons added to the list are former Verkhovna Rada member Oleg Lyashko, former Ukrainian MP and ex-commander of the Aidar battalion (designated as extremist and banned in Russia) Sergei Melnichuk and founder of the Azov terrorist formation, banned in Russia, Andrei Biletsky.

The law requires banks to freeze assets of individuals and entities on this list and halt their servicing.
